Norms and Standards for Agro-Processed Foods under the AfCFTA

Sanitary and Phytosanitary standards are vital to international trade and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as they ensure that consumers’ health is protected. However, the cost of compliance is expensive and can deter trade, especially under the preferential terms of the AfCFTA. This capacity-building workshop, led by Mr. Henri Kouam, Executive Director of CEPI, will equip 20 agro-processing entrepreneurs with the skills and ability to research these standards and create an action plan to comply with them. This training is organised by CEPI, a leading think tank in Cameroon under its’ Trade for You’ programme that seeks to accelerate the implementation of the AfCFTA and equip entrepreneurs with the skills, tools, and competence to trade under the AfCFTA’s preferential terms.
