Henri Kouam
Founder & Executive Director
Mr Henri Kouam is the Founder of the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute of the Henri Kouam Foundation. He was an Economic Expert for the North American Treaty Organisation (NATO), providing strategic direction and managing projects on debt, security, and sustainability across Africa. He is a contributor to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), where he provides actionable intelligence and policy research on the Nordic region. Between 2020 – 2022, he worked for Sterlinx Global (UK), Benzinga (U.S.), and One Button Trader (Netherlands). As a consultant for UK-based Sterling Global, I participated in Research and Development consultations with Her Majesty’s Revenues and Customs (HMRC) in the United Kingdom. He worked as an Economic Policy Analyst at the Nkafu Policy Institute and worked as a research consultant for the Demographic Dividend sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2017.

Pierre Oyono
Research Fellow
Pierre Oyono Mvogo is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at EUROMED University in Fez, Morocco. He holds a master’s degree in international relations with a specialization in regional integration and management of community institutions from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC). He works on issues related to regional development, migration and free trade, health economics and international development.

Christelle Guegne
Research Fellow
Mme. Christelle Guegne is the founder of PHYTOASSURE Sarl, an innovative company specializing in the production and distribution of herbal products, in particular infusions, herbal teas, and dietary supplements. As an Agro-pastoral advisor and natural therapeutic advocate, her company promotes plant-based treatments combining ancestral methods with modern techniques. She is a Specialist in the structuring of farmers’ organizations and is trained in phytotherapy. As a Free-Market Research and Program Fellow at CEPI, she leads research initiatives, trainings, and workshops to equip current and future entrepreneurs with practical tools and skill sets to launch, run, and scale businesses in the agriculture and service sector. She focuses on quality, natural and local alternatives of a sustainable local economy. She leads several online and offline trainings for CEPI every year under the “Let’s Work Initiative” designed to upskill and train future entrepreneurs.

Hawaing Djamo
Research Assistant
Haiwang Djamo Ferdinand is a research student at the University of Maroua. He holds a Master’s degree in Basic Private Law from the same university. His great compassion for human beings undoubtedly forged his passion for humanitarian work. It was then that he became leader of ENJEAL NYS AGRO (Coordination de l’Extrême-Nord), an organization which, in addition to agropastoral activities, is also involved in humanitarian action, where he works as project coordinator. He is currently a volunteer at CEPI (Cameroon Economic Policy Institute), an organization that seeks to improve the quality of economic policy in Cameroon. He works there as an analyst and articles editor.

Dr. Langmi Degha
Research Fellow
Mr. LANGMI ESUA DEGHA holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics. He is a final year Ph.D. and a research fellow in Mathematical Economics at the University of Yaounde II. He also graduated from the financial division of the National School of Administration and Magistracy in 2015 as an Inspector of Prices, Weights, and Measures. His professional experience in the Center Regional Brigade of Controls and the Anti-fraud of the Ministry of Trade has enabled him to relate economic theories to the country’s realities.

Dr. Annie Nkeng
Research Fellow
Dr. Annie is a finance and economic development expert with cross-sector experience in banking, energy, and telecommunications. She holds a Master’s in International Management and Economics from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, and a PhD in Infrastructure, Governance, and Intra-regional Trade from the Pan African University. She is a Corporate Finance Analyst at Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL), focusing on financial planning, investment analysis, and corporate strategy. She is passionate about regional integration and trade and previously worked at Standard Chartered Bank and Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCO).

Dr. Nchofoung Tii
Research Fellow
Dr. Tii Nchofoung earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Dschang in Cameroon and a certification in Administration from Cameroon’s National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). He works as an administrator and researcher for the Cameroonian Ministry of Trade, as well as a research associate at the European Xtramile Center of African Studies (EXCAS) in Belgium. He previously served as a Visiting Scholar for the Association for Promoting Women in Research and Development in Africa (ASPROWORDA) in Cameroon and the Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and its Diasporas at York University.

Dr. Herve Wouapi

Dr. Herve Alain Napi Wouapi currently works at the Department of Agricultural Extension , Université de Dschang. Herve does research in Qualitative Social Research, Social Policy and Urban/Rural Sociology. Their current project is ‘Commitment to Enhancing Resilience of Livelihoods and Production Systems to Climate Variability and other related risks in Africa’. he is currently a Research Fellow who focuses on agriculture and rural development.

Dyliss Ngwoh
Administrative Assistant
Miss Dyliss Ngwoh Dawoh, is an Administrative Assistant who is passionate about Management with a BSc in Management from the University Buea. She uses her skills to work as an administrative assistant at Cameroon Economic Policy Institute. She’s responsible for scheduling
appointments, assisting other staff members, and drafting correspondences or
messages in order to achieve the company goals, and making sure everything goes smoothly in the organization. She uses her job-specific skills to bring fruition to CEPI’s goals.

Dr. Tassah Ivo Tawe
Research Fellow in Agriculture
Dr. Tassah Ivo Tawe is a Researcher Fellow at CEPI and is the National Environmental Expert for the EU Value Chain Analysis for Development (EUVCA4D) project for both Cassava and Rice in Cameroon – representing CEPI. He is also a Research officer with the Department of Economics and Environmental Sciences, Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation, Yaoundé- Cameroon. His research foci are environmental dynamics and risk management, forest cover transitions, Agricultural ecology/farming systems, Women in Environment and Agriculture, land degradation dynamics and climate change with application of Geoinformatics. Dr. Tassah, delivers several university courses and lectures with main emphasis on environmental change, natural disasters risk management, and practical geography. He has authored and co-authored > 7 Book chapters and 14 scientific publications in high-impact international scientific journals. He has been a keynote speaker in many national and international conferences and workshops. He leads CEPI’s agriculture advocacy

Yvan Audrey Kamdem
Research Fellow
Yvan Audrey Kamdem is an Independent Consultant and PhD Candidate in Applied Quantitative Techniques. His research explores FinTech, Financial Inclusion, and Intergenerational Mobility. He is certified in impact evaluation (J-PAL) and Gender and Intersectionality (UNESCO), lectures, and has completed research for 3ie and the Cameroonian Red Cross. As an assistant lecturer in Cameroon, he teaches Quantitative and Qualitative Methods using tools like Stata, KoboToolbox, and NVivo.
Committed to youth empowerment, he co-founded the Kalar’r Initiative for Women in Economics (KIWE) and the open-access magazine Diomzen, where he serves as Chief Editor.

Paul Tamfu

Mr. Nkeh Tamfu Paul was born in Bafoussam, Cameroon and hails from Nkambe in the Northwest Region. With over 14 years of professional experience as an ICT technician, Nkeh has made significant contributions to the field of technology and finance in Cameroon. His career began with a prominent microfinance institution, where he honed his skills and expertise in ICT, playing a crucial role in enhancing technological infrastructure and systems for the organization. His consultancy work allowed him to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with emerging companies, contributing to the growth and advancement of the banking and financial sector in Cameroon. His commitment to excellence and his passion for harnessing the power of ICT to transform businesses have been central to his professional journey.

Dr. Eric Tchouamou Njoya
Associate Researcher
Dr. Eric Tchouamou Njoya is a Reseach Fellow in Trade and Transportation & (Associate Professor) in Air Transport Economics at Huddersfield Business School. He serves as the Subject Group Leader for Research and Innovation in the Logistics, Transport, Operations, and Analytics division within the Department of Accounting, Finance, Logistics, and Economics. Dr. Njoya is widely involved with the industry and has research interests spanning aviation and tourism economics, aviation regulation, sustainability in transport, economic development, and the application of technology in transport and logistics. He has published extensively and presented his research to both academic and practitioner audiences. Dr. Njoya has successfully completed air transport-related research projects for various institutions, including the European Investment Bank, the European Commission, the European Subsea Cables Association, and The Korea Transport Institute. He has also participated in an EU COST Project aimed at investigating the relationship between air transport and regional development.

Akono Ronald Nixon

Akono Ronald Nixon is a young Cameroonian graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Postes et Telecommunications (formerly ENSTP), specializing in logistics and transport. After a few years of practical experience , he pursued his professional training with a Master’s degree in International Relations ,specializing in Inetrnational Trade and Economic Diplomacy (WTO Chair) at Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroon (IRIC). His favorite subjects are ; trade policy, international trade, economic diplomacy and the supply chain. He currently functions as an Associate researcher at CEPI, whereby he generally researches topics related to international trade and international relations.
As a member of the Youth for Trade Facilitation program, which promotes the use of digital platforms for international trade, he campaigns for better integration of Africa into a fairer and more equitable multilateral system.

Elishammah Nyaba
Research Analyst
Elishammah Nyaba holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the American University of Beirut, with a specialization in finance and entrepreneurship. He has worked with NGOs supporting efforts around themes such as education, migration, youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship. He is interested in migration, labor issues, and financial inclusion, with a focus on policy reforms that improve underserved communities in Africa. He is currently completing his Master's in Development atthe University of Cambridge.

Nnoge Valdes Alobwede
Accountant
Nnoge Valdes holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Buea, where he graduated with honors in 2023. Since then, he has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in the field of finance and accounting, bringing a meticulous and analytical approach to each task entrusted to him.
He is currently employed at the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute (CEPI) as an accountant. He is responsible for financial recording, financial reporting, budget management, and conducting internal auditing. Throughout his tenure, we have implemented effective accounting systems, ensured compliance with financial regulations, and, to date, contributed to the organization's strategic financial planning. He works closely with external auditors to ensure they have access to all CEPI financial records, accounting software, and administrative documents to ensure audits are conducted promptly and effectively.

Dr. Cheforr Ngwenyi Meungwe
Research Fellow
Dr. Chefor Ngwenyi Meungwe is a Research Fellow and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at CEPI. She is a development economist with over 8 years of experience in policy research, monitoring and evaluation, and gender-responsive development programs. She holds a master's degree in development economics and is a leading voice in the field of women's economic empowerment and human rights advocacy in Africa. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation, food security, and the economic impact of gender-based violence. Chefor has worked with the Nkafu Policy Institute, United Nations agencies, and the African Graduate Mentorship Program, contributing to policy briefs, technical reports, and strategic frameworks. As a monitoring and evaluation specialist, she has led field evaluations in several African countries and is proficient in tools such as Stata, KOBO Collect, and Survey CTO. Bilingual in English and French, Chefor is an active member of the Network of African Feminist Economists and APWORDA, which advocates for evidence-based policies for inclusive development.

Mbarga Guy Wangso Séraphin

Mbarga Guy Wangso Seraphin is a young economist with a Master's degree in Applied Economics, specializing in Economic Engineering and Inclusive Finance, obtained at the University of Maroua. A passionate researcher, he excels at simplifying complex economic information through data visualization. An active member of Scoop Green Farms, he has contributed to the development of local products and the optimization of communication strategies. Versatile and committed, he combines analytical rigor with an innovative mindset. He is currently a volunteer research analyst at CEPI.

Ouzerou Youhenyi
Research Analyst
Ouzerou Youhenyi holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Buea and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Douala. He previously worked as an intern at Mmockmbie Cooperative Credit Union in Douala Bonaberi, where I was exposed to core financial and operations. He also participated in the one-month holiday job program at the National School of
Local Administration (NASLA), working within the department of budget, material, and maintenance, where I contributed to administrative support activities. As a research analyst at CEPI, his areas of focus include fiscal policy and trade.

Fatou Secka

Fatou Secka is a committed professional with over four years of experience in administrative coordination and academic support. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Governance and Regional Integration and holds an honors BSc in Political Science. Additionally, her skills in advocacy and social media management, gained from her role at Special Olympics Gambia, enhance her expertise in public policy research and leadership, supporting her current position as a Programme Intern.

Dr. Egbe Fride
Research Fellow
Dr. Egbe-Njie Fride is a Development Economist with a PhD in Development, Institutional, and International Economic Relations from the University of Yaoundé II. Her research draws on evidence to inform policy, addressing the challenges posed to Africa’s sustainable economic transformation. She focuses on human capital development, digital inequality, international economic flows, and inclusive growth, using quantitative analyses and field research to generate actionable insights for governments and national and global development agencies. She lectures and supervises students in economics, fostering analytical skills and policy awareness among emerging professionals.

Tchoupe Fossi
Research Analyst || Climate Finance and Trade
TCHOUPÉ FOSSI Junior is a research analyst at CEPI and a student at the Institute of International Relations in Cameroon. He is also a consultant for the ICLEI Africa consultation project “Climate Finance,” at CEPI, where he conducts research and supports policy advocacy efforts to support commercial banks' investments in climate finance projects. His verifiable expertise in climate finance and trade policy is supported by regular engagement with senior policymakers from Cameroon and the European Union. As an ardent free markets advocate, he trains businesses on AfCFTA tools and leads CEPI's climate advocacy in Yaoundé, having participated in high-level working sessions (Minister, European Partner). Fossi contributes directly to regional integration by producing briefs for decision-makers, writing media articles, and educating civil society through his media engagements.

Dang Attouh
Research Fellow || Head of Monetary Policy Division
DANG ATTOU is a Research Fellow in Finance at CEPI and a consultant and lecturer at reputed private universities in Douala. As the Head of the Monetary Policy Division at CEPI, he spearheads critical research aimed at modernizing the financial sector through financial inclusion, market deepening, and the promotion of free-market principles.
His expertise is grounded, having previously led transformative, policy-relevant initiatives for the Microfinance Division at the Ministry of Finance. This makes him one of the most verifiable financial experts in the country, particularly within the SME ecosystem. His work continues to drive economic development by ensuring that financial systems are both robust and accessible to all. When he's not working, he is visiting historical monuments across Douala or running.

Yvan Audrey Kamdem
Research Fellow || Banking & Financial Inclusion
YVAN AUDREY KAMDEM, is a recent PhD Graduate on financial sector development and market-based economic reforms in Sub-Saharan Africa. His research focuses on the mechanisms of financial inclusion, financial deepening, and the advancement of free-market principles to drive regional economic growth.
At CEPI, he moderates events, trains SMEs on access to finance, and works with senior policymakers across Cameroon's largest banks to support funding programs for SMEs. he educates beyond the classroom, where he lectures in Economics.
He holds a deep specialization in the role of fintech in expanding financial access and leads CEPI's work in financial inclusion through trainings, media articles, reports, and policy briefs.
