Mr. Henri Kouam
Founder & Executive Director

Mr Henri Kouam is the Founder of the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute of the Henri Kouam Foundation. He was an Economic Expert for the North American Treaty Organisation (NATO), providing strategic direction and managing projects on debt, security, and sustainability across Africa. He is a contributor to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), where he provides actionable intelligence and policy research on the Nordic region. Between 2020 – 2022, he worked for Sterlinx Global (UK), Benzinga (U.S.), and One Button Trader (Netherlands). As a consultant for UK-based Sterling Global, I participated in Research and Development consultations with Her Majesty’s Revenues and Customs (HMRC) in the United Kingdom. He worked as an Economic Policy Analyst at the Nkafu Policy Institute and worked as a research consultant for the Demographic Dividend sponsored by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2017.

Pierre Oyono
Research Fellow

Pierre Oyono Mvogo is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at EUROMED University in Fez, Morocco. He holds a master’s degree in international relations with a specialization in regional integration and management of community institutions from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC). 

Dinga Tambi Research Fellow

Mr. Dinga Tambi is a Development Expert and Researcher. He currently serves as Head of Programme for Good Neighbors International-Cameroon.  He supports several Local NGOs on the design of data driven and evidenced based development interventions.

Tambi holds a Master’s Degree in International Cooperation and Decentralized Cooperation for Development from the University of Padova in partnership with the International Relations Institute of Cameroon. He is a certified Project Manager from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a Certified Monitoring and Evaluation expert from The International Training Centre of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and holds a certificate on Data Analysis for Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) 

Dr. Stéphane Tékouabou Research Fellow

Dr. Stephane Tekouabou  is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Computer Sciences and Educational Technologies of the Higher Teacher Training of Yaounde 1 in Cameroon. He was a Research scientist and a PostDoc Researcher at the center of urban systems of the  Mohamed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P),  Ben Guerir systemsMorroco from 2020 to 2023. He is also an assoociate Professor EIGSI Engineering school of Casablanca  since 2020 . He received his pHD degree in  Septmber 2020 from the  Faculty of SciencesChouaib Doukkali University24000, El Jadida , Morroco. He obtained his State Engineering dgree in 2016 from the  National School of Applied Sciences of El Jadida (ENSAJ)  of the same university. He is an associate Editor of the  African cities journal, and reviewer of many journals including,  Sustainable Cities and Society  (Elsevier, Q1, IF 10.696, SJR 2.02, CiteScore 14.4) ewer He has also participated in the Scientific Committee of many international confernces. 

Hawaing Djamo Research Assistant

Haiwang Djamo Ferdinand is a research student at the University of Maroua. He holds a Master’s degree in Basic Private Law from the same university. His great compassion for human beings undoubtedly forged his passion for humanitarian work. It was then that he became leader of ENJEAL NYS AGRO (Coordination de l’Extrême-Nord), an organization which, in addition to agropastoral activities, is also involved in humanitarian action, where he works as project coordinator. He is currently a volunteer at CEPI (Cameroon Economic Policy Institute), an organization that seeks to improve the quality of economic policy in Cameroon. He works there as an analyst and articles editor.

Dr. Langmi Degha
Research Fellow

Mr. LANGMI ESUA DEGHA holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics. He is a final year Ph.D. and a research fellow in Mathematical Economics at the University of Yaounde II. He also graduated from the financial division of the National School of Administration and Magistracy in 2015 as an Inspector of Prices, Weights, and Measures. His professional experience in the Center Regional Brigade of Controls and the Anti-fraud of the Ministry of Trade has enabled him to relate economic theories to the country’s realities.

Ghislain Nkontchou
Language Editor

Mr Nkontchou Ghislain is our Research Editor and a Student at Baruch College, Master’s in International Affairs expected in 2024. Experienced advocate for vulnerable populations as an aide, evaluator, rapporteur, and conference organizer. Earned a MA in Business Law at Yaounde Soa II in Cameroon. Seeking internship or part-time work in crisis management or advocacy for vulnerable populations. Skills and training include advocacy training, conference management, and staff training. Fluent in French and English.

Dr. Nchofoung Tii Research Fellow

Dr. Tii Nchofoung earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Dschang in Cameroon and a certification in Administration from Cameroon’s National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). He works as an administrator and researcher for the Cameroonian Ministry of Trade, as well as a research associate at the European Xtramile Center of African Studies (EXCAS) in Belgium. He previously served as a Visiting Scholar for the Association for Promoting Women in Research and Development in Africa (ASPROWORDA) in Cameroon and the Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and its Diasporas at York University. 

Dr. Herve Wouapi Research Fellow

Dr. Herve Alain Napi Wouapi currently works at the Department of Agricultural Extension , Université de Dschang. Herve does research in Qualitative Social Research, Social Policy and Urban/Rural Sociology. Their current project is ‘Commitment to Enhancing Resilience of Livelihoods and Production Systems to Climate Variability and other related risks in Africa’. he is currently a Research Fellow who focuses on agriculture and rural development. 

Dyliss Ngwoh
Administrative Assistant

Miss Dyliss Ngwoh Dawoh, is an Administrative Assistant  who is passionate about Management  with a BSc in Management from the University Buea. She uses her skills to work as an administrative assistant at Cameroon Economic Policy Institute. She’s responsible for scheduling
appointments, assisting other staff members, and drafting correspondences or
messages in
order to achieve the company goals, and making sure everything goes smoothly in the organization. She uses her job-specific skills to bring fruition to CEPI’s goals.

Forbi Dodly
Webmaster

Mr. Forbi Dodly holds a B.Eng Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with specialty in Telecommunications from the University of Buea. He is the current Web Master for the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute, performing tasks ranging from  maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting of the Institute’s software modules like the website to search engine optimization techiques to propel the sites visibility and user experience and engagement.

Kepgang Harry

Mr. Kepgang Tchienou Harry Bridin is a final year undergraduate studying Economics. Passionate about applying economic insights for positive change. He  is a volunteer at the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute (CEPI)  and is excited sharing his skills to and make a difference in the community. 

Paul Tamfu
Program Analyst & AI Associate

Mr. Nkeh Tamfu Paul was born in Bafoussam, Cameroon and hails from Nkambe in the Northwest Region. With over 14 years of professional experience as an ICT technician, Nkeh has made significant contributions to the field of technology and finance in Cameroon. His career began with a prominent microfinance institution, where he honed his skills and expertise in ICT, playing a crucial role in enhancing technological infrastructure and systems for the organization. His consultancy work allowed him to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with emerging companies, contributing to the growth and advancement of the banking and financial sector in Cameroon. His commitment to excellence and his passion for harnessing the power of ICT to transform businesses have been central to his professional journey.

Dr. Eric Tchouamou Njoya
Associate Researcher

Dr. Eric Tchouamou Njoya is a Reseach Fellow in Trade and Transportation &  (Associate Professor) in Air Transport Economics at Huddersfield Business School. He serves as the Subject Group Leader for Research and Innovation in the Logistics, Transport, Operations, and Analytics division within the Department of Accounting, Finance, Logistics, and Economics. Dr. Njoya is widely involved with the industry and has research interests spanning aviation and tourism economics, aviation regulation, sustainability in transport, economic development, and the application of technology in transport and logistics. He has published extensively and presented his research to both academic and practitioner audiences. Dr. Njoya has successfully completed air transport-related research projects for various institutions, including the European Investment Bank, the European Commission, the European Subsea Cables Association, and The Korea Transport Institute. He has also participated in an EU COST Project aimed at investigating the relationship between air transport and regional development.

Akono Ronald Nixon
Associate Researcher

Akono Ronald Nixon is a young Cameroonian graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Postes et Telecommunications (formerly ENSTP), specializing in logistics and transport. After a few years of practical experience , he pursued his professional training with a Master’s degree in International Relations ,specializing in Inetrnational Trade and Economic Diplomacy (WTO Chair) at Institut des Relations Internationales du Cameroon (IRIC). His favorite subjects are ; trade policy, international trade, economic diplomacy and the supply chain. He currently functions as an Associate researcher at CEPI, whereby he generally researches topics  related to international trade and international relations. 

As a member of the Youth for Trade Facilitation program, which promotes the use of digital platforms for international trade, he campaigns for better integration of Africa into a fairer and more equitable multilateral system. 

Elishammah Nyaba
Research Analyst

Elishammah Nyaba holds a BBA from The American University of Beirut, with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurship. He has worked with NGOs supporting efforts around themes like education, migration, youth empowerment and entrepreneurship. His interests include migration, labor issues, and financial inclusion, with a focus on policy reforms that uplift underserved communities in Africa.

Nnoge Valdes Alobwede
Accountant

Nnoge Valdes holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Buea, where he graduated with second class honors in 2023. Since then, he has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in the field of finance and accounting, bringing a meticulous and analytical approach to every task he is assigned.

He is currently employed at Cameroon Economic Policy Institute [CEPI] as an Accountant. NHe therefore is responsible for Financial recording,  financial reporting, budget management, auditing. Throughout their tenure, they have implemented efficient accounting systems, ensured compliance with financial regulations, and so far, has contributed to the strategic financial planning of the organization.

Charles Mekwi
Program Associate

Charles Mekwi is a results-driven leader with a deep commitment to development finance, private sector development, skill development, and business development. With a strong academic background, including an MBA in Development Finance (2024) from the University of Bamenda, he is currently a Program Associate at the Cameroon Economic Policy Institute. Prior to joining CEPI, Charles has held operations and program support roles with USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program, Elisabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, GIZ, and African Business Information Bank respectively. With over 5 years of experience, Charles will be supporting the programs team to advance our mission of boosting economic development through fact-based research, debates, and advocacy to reduce poverty and improve the livelihoods of Cameroonians
